ITINERARY:

OCT. 16, DAY 1: DEPART U.S.A. Depart on an overnight flight to Rome. (Airfare available from major U.S. cities)

OCT. 17, DAY 2: ROME. Arrive at Rome’s international airport where you are greeted by your English-speaking Tour guide. Transfer to the hotel with a stop at St. Paul Outside the Walls for Mass. Settle into your hotel and have an afternoon at leisure, and time to become acclimated to a new time zone. Light lunch will be served at the hotel and dinner will be at the hotel at 7PM.Overnight in Rome with dinner at the hotel. OCT. 18, DAY 3: CHRISTIAN ROME. This morning we embark on a sightseeing tour of Christian Rome which includes: the Basilica of St.Mary Major, one of the oldest shrines dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, a shrine that contains a relic from the manger of the infant Jesus; here we celebrate Mass. Then on to the Holy Stairs, the Basilica of St. John the Lateran, the former residence of the Popes, prior to their return to Rome in 1377. We also visit the Coliseum to see where the early Christians where punished for their faith.

OCT. 19, DAY 4: ROME—VATICAN TREASURES. Following Mass, and a guided visit to St. Peter’s Basilica , built on the site where St. Peter was martyred. Unsurpassed in beauty this is the greatest Cathedral in the world and a monument to Catholic faith and tradition. We then explore the Vatican Museums, a group of most impressive edifices with hundreds of galleries filled with art treasures. See awe-inspiring relics and works of art donated throughout centuries as tributes of faith. We'll cover the Tapestry Gallery, the Raphael Rooms, the most overwhelming Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's Masterpiece, a restored mural of the Last Judgment. We then proceed to the famous tourist sites of Rome on a walking tour including the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon Church and the magnificent Piazza Navone, where you can enjoy dinner on your own or take the bus back to the hotel. OCT. 20, DAY 5: ROME—DAY AT LEISURE OR OPTIONAL DAY TRIP TO ASSISI. Enjoy a day at leisure in Rome to explore on your own, or due to Blessed Kateri’s special devotion to St. Catherine of Siena, you may choose to take and option excursion to Siena, where we celebrate Mass at St. Catherine’s Cathedral, or choose an optional excursion to Assisi, where we take a guided tour to see San Ruffino Church, and Celebrate Mass at St. Francis Basilica and visit Santa Maria Degli Angeli. Return to Rome this evening for overnight. Dinner is on your own. (B.)
OCT. 21, DAY 6: CANONIZATION OF THE BLESSED KATERI TEKAKWITHA AT THE VATICAN. Participate in the full program prepared by the Vatican and the Catholic Office of Black and Indian Mission. Today we make our way to the Vatican where we attend the Ceremony of the Canonization of the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, “the Lily of the Mohawks”, the young Native American maiden who, despite objections from her own clan, came to know and love Christ. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight we have a gala dinner in a restaurant with wine to celebrate the great event we witnessed today. Overnight Rome.

OCT. 22, DAY 7: EVENTS AT THE VATICAN & THANKSGIVING MASS. Today’s activities will depend on the program organized by the Vatican. Our groups will participate in the private Papal Audience and Thanksgiving Mass at the Vatican (TBC). The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Enjoy a farewell Dinner tonight in a local restaurant with wine

OCT. 23, DAY 8: RETURN TO U.S.A. or take an optional 5-day extension to; A) San Giovanni, Loreto Lanciano, and Pompeii OR B) Siena, Florence, Padua, and Venice. Deposits and final payment: A deposit of $700.00 per person should accompany the registration form, along with your optional insurance payment and copies of your passport picture page by MARCH 23, 2012. Final payment is due JULY 16, 2012. An optional payment plan is available whereby monthly installments can be arranged.
Airline seating and special requests: We do not reserve specific seats with the airline. You may change your seat at the airport prior to departure.

Single supplement: A few single rooms are available for an additional $795.00 per person and can not exceed 10% of the group.
Baggage: Each participant is allowed to check (1) suitcase weighing no more than 50 lbs., and one small carry-on bag on the plane. Baggage fees are not included. Please check the specific airline baggage fees on their website.
Tour Cancellation Policy: Up to 90 days prior to departure a reservation fee of $450 is withheld. Within 90 days of departure all payments are nonrefundable regardless of reason for cancellations. All cancellations must be in writing. Unused portions of the trip are not refundable. We strongly urge you to purchase Trip Cancellation/Travel Insurance at an additional $247.00 per person for Basic Coverage or the Cancel for Any Reason policy, which we recommend for $271.00 per person.
