Day 1: DEPART USA Depart on our international flight to Rome, Italy. Meals will be served aboard flight. Day 2: ROME Upon arrival at the Rome Airport the group will be transferred by deluxe motorcoach to the hotel, En route to the hotel, enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour from your motorcoach of some of the important sights of Rome including the Palazzo Venezia, the Circus Maximus, the Forum, the Arch of Constantine and of course the Colosseum. There are no planned activities for the rest of the day, so please enjoy some time at leisure to explore Rome on your own. Enjoy dinner at the hotel your first night in the "Eternal City." Overnight in Rome.(D) Day 3: ROME (Optional Excursion to ASSISI) Free day in Rome or you can take part in anOptional Excursion ($65. p/per) to Assisi, the town of St. Francis and St. Clare. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D) Day 4: ROME (Optional Excursion to POMPEII) There are no planned activities so please enjoy some time at leisure to explore Rome on your own. Possibility to make an Optional Excursion($82. p/per) to Pompeii including a Mass at the Basilica of Pompeii. Dinner and overnight in Rome.(B,D) Day 5: ROME (Vatican Museums) Enjoy a guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica and the world famous Vatican Museums, featuring a visit to the Sistine Chapel. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D) Day 6: ROME Enjoy a wonderful tour of three of the four major basilicas of Rome including St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and St. Mary Major. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D) Day 7: ROME (Optional Excursion to MONTE CASSINO) Today is a Free Day to explore Rome on your own. Or take part in an Optional Excursion ($40. p/per) to Monte Cassino, the monastery founded by St. Benedict in the 6th Century. Monte Cassino sits on an impressive hill overlooking the town of Cassino. Return to Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D) Day 8: ROME / LISBON After breakfast attend Palm Sunday Mass. Depart for Rome Airport mid afternoon for flight to Lisbon. Overnight in Lisbon. (B) Day 9: LISBON / USA After breakfast depart for airport and flight to USA. The Papal Audience takes place on Wednesdays, and the Papal Blessing is on Sundays. Both are only available in accordance with His Holiness' schedule, and may not take place during this particular tour.
