We Begin our Journey in Japan...
Our journey unfolds in Kyoto, never bombed during World War II out of respect
for its many historic landmarks which we'll discover. We'll also visit Peace
Memorial Park in Hiroshima and then travel on to Tokyo and Hakone National
Park, revered for its forested mountains and delightful views of Mt. Fuji.

...And Finish in Honolulu
Accompanied by our specialist Hawaiian-American guide, we'll visit the
Battleship Missouri Memorial, the Pacific Aviation Museum, Punchbowl Cemetery
and the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii. We'll also spend a full day participating
in the commemorative events for the 75th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor
attack. Before returning to the mainland, we'll have an entire day at leisure
to enjoy Honolulu and our 5-star Waikiki Beach resort.

ITINERARY
Day 1 - Depart USA
The journey begins with your flight to Japan.
Day 2 - Welcome to Kyoto
After customs, you’ll be transferred to the Granvia Hotel. The balance of this day is yours to relax and enjoy as you wish.
Day 3 - Discover Kyoto c
Out
of respect for its stature as the spiritual and cultural heart of their
country, American military command chose not to bomb Kyoto during World
War II. With our expert guide, you’ll visit many of the landmarks that
still grace the city including Nijo Castle, the Golden Pavilion and
Kiyomizu, a temple founded more than 1,200 years ago in the forested
hills above the city. After sightseeing, dine with Geisha and experience
one of Japan’s oldest traditions. meals b+d
Day 4 - Visit Hiroshima c
Board
the world-famous Bullet Train for Hiroshima and visit Peace Memorial
Park where the Memorial Museum surveys the city’s history and the events
of August 6, 1945. Nearby, the A-Bomb Dome is a UNESCO World Heritage
Site that provides a tangible link to Hiroshima’s past. Before returning
to Kyoto, you’ll also visit the fascinating Yamato Maritime Museum in
the city’s Kure port district. meals b
Day 5 - Bullet Train to Tokyo
Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you ride in comfort aboard the Bullet Train to Tokyo. Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to the Tokyo Hilton. meals b+d
Day 6 - Old + New in Tokyo
After
an early breakfast, we’ve arranged for a special tour of the famous
Tsukiji Fish Market where you’ll join the city’s best chefs who come
daily to procure the freshest seafood. Then join one such master chef to
learn the art of preparing restaurantquality sushi! Today’s sightseeing
also includes Yasukuni-jinja, which was completed in 1869 as a memorial
shrine to the 2.5 million Japanese who have died in war. You’ll also
visit the Yushukan Museum, where politically controversial military
exhibits are sure to stimulate discussion as you look forward to your
visit to Pearl Harbor during its 75th Anniversary. meals b
Day 7 - Hakone National Park
An
unforgettable day unfolds as you ascend to the scenic 5th Station of
Mt. Fuji. On a clear day, this site offers wonderful views of Fuji’s
nearly-symmetrical peak. Continue to Hakone National Park, beloved for
its fragrant pine forests and embark on a cruise across the placid
waters of beautiful Lake Ashi. You’ll also ascend Mt. Komagatake by
cable car for sweeping views over the region’s forested mountains.
Return to Tokyo and enjoy your evening at leisure. meals b
Day 8 - Fly to Honolulu
You’ll
be transferred to Narita International Airport for your nonstop flight
to Hawaii. Upon arrival in Honolulu, enjoy a traditional Lei Greeting
before we escort you to your oceanview rooms at the deluxe Hyatt Regency Waikiki. meals b+d
Day 9 - USS Missouri + Punchbowl Cemetery
After breakfast, you’ll meet our specialist guide to begin two days of exclusive exploration, beginning with the Battleship
Missouri Memorial. As you tour this 58,000-ton behemoth of a ship, you’ll hear dramatic stories about the last American
battleship ever built and the historic events of the Japanese surrender
that took place here on its decks. At the nearby Pacific Aviation
Museum, set inside two hangars on historic Ford Island, you’ll discover
unusual aviation exhibits related to the attack on Pearl Harbor. The
buildings themselves still show damage from the events of December 1941.
From the waterfront, continue to the National Cemetery of the Pacific.
Often referred to as Punchbowl Cemetery, this historic site is set
inside a volcanic crater and is the final resting place for thousands of
American soldiers and sailors who sacrificed their lives for our
nation. Today’s sightseeing ends at Fort DeRussy where the unique
exhibits of the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii are displayed in a massive
concrete structure built in the early 1900’s as part of a coastal
defense system. Helicopters, guns and tanks are just some of the
artifacts that tell the story of Hawaii’s military history from ancient
times through World War II and the Vietnam War. meals b+l
Day 10 - 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor
Our
special guide will be with us for the full day so that you can
participate in all the commemorative events for the 75th anniversary of
the attack on Pearl Harbor. The exact schedule of events, visits and

Day 11 - Day at Leisure + Luau
This
day is yours to enjoy as you wish on Oahu. This evening, you’ll delight
in the traditional food, music and dance of a festive and colorful
Hawaiian luau! meals b+d
Day 12 - Depart Honolulu
After breakfast, you’ll be escorted to the airport for your return flight to the Mainland. meals b
