Depart PHILADELPHIA Airport

Day 1: DEPART USA
Depart on your overnight transatlantic flight to Frankfurt, arriving the following day. Meals will be served on board.
 
Day 2: ARRIVE FRANKFURT
Arrive Frankfurt. Enjoy a brief Rhine cruise then transfer to your hotel. (D)
 
Day 3: FRANKFURT / HEIDELBERG / FREIBURG
After breakfast, depart to Heidelberg and view the medieval Town Hall, the University and Heidelburg Castle. Continue to the Freiburg area. (B,D)
 
Day 4: FREIBURG / BASEL / LUCERNE
After breakfast, drive to basel then proceed to Lucerne. Its attractive waterfront, 14th and 15th century covered wood bridges and the Old Town medieval walls make Lucerne one of Switzerland's prettiest cities. (B,D)
 
Day 5: LAKE LUCERNE
On a panoramic tour of the Bernese oberland, drive through the Obwalden Valley. Follow the Bruenig Pass road to Interlaken, dwarfed by the Alpine peaks of the Eiger and Jungfrau. From there, procedd to Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen, then return to your hotel for the night. (B,D)

Day 6: LAKE LUCERNE / INNSBRUCK
Drive along the shores of Lake Zurich to Innsbruck in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps. View the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), Wilten Basilica, Hofburg Palace and Maria Theresia Avenue. (B,D)

Day 7: INNSBRUCK / SALZBURG
Travel through the beautiful Alpine scenery to the "Sound of Music" city of Salzburg. On a city tour see the Mozarteum and the Altarmarkt in the heart of the picturesque Old City. (B)
Salzburg-Munich
   
Day 8: SALZBURG / OBERAMMERGAU / NEUSCHWANSTEIN / MUNICH
Drive to Oberammergau, site of the world-famous Passion Play. Next, motor through the Bavarian Alps and view King Ludwig's fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle. Continue to Munich, capitol of Bavaria.

Day 9: MUNICH
On a city tour see Marienplatz, Nymphenburg, the former Royal Residence,Odeon Square with the beautiful Theatiner Church and the Halls of the Generals. Afternoon at leisure. (Optional: an opportunity to experience Oktoberfest.) Overnight in Munich area. (B)

Day 10: MUNICH / ROTHENBURG / RHINE VALLEY
Travel north on the Romantic Road to visit Rothenburg, Germany's best preserved medieval town. See St. Jakobskirch, with its altar carving by Tilman Riemenschneider. (B,D)
 
Day 11: FRANKFURT / USA
Bid farewell to Europe as youe transfer to the airport for your flight back to USA, arriving the same day. (B)
